Mission
Prison Beat is an information and resources center where inmates, families, friends and loved ones can get information on the Canadian Prison System (Provincial jails & Federal penitentiary). Prison Beat offers comprehensive jail/prison preparation services for anyone facing jail/prison time in the Canadian Correctional System. Through the extensive firsthand experiences and knowledge of our team, Prison Beat assists the families and loved ones of those charged with criminal offences to prepare them for incarceration and day-to-day life throughout their incarceration. We give support and advice on how family can best navigate the challenges that come with the incarceration of their loved ones. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone has the same information about the Prison system and understand the stakes of incarceration and the risks.
The Prison Beat team has unparallel insight and information on the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and are leaders in the area of family needs. We provide information regarding incarceration, inmate's imprisonment, reintegration and parole preparation. We understand the Correctional process from the inmate's perspective and can provide tools and information designed to ease the burdens of incarceration, minimize the uncertainty of not knowing or being in the dark about incarceration.
Prison Beat provides "A Free Consulting Session” to anyone interested in learning about the Canadian Prison System, incarceration, parole and/or any of the other services we provide.
Our goal is to create an environment where everyone - the families, friends and loved ones of the incarcerated individuals and the inmates themselves can have the information of what to expect during the incarceration.
The PrisonBeat Team
The Prison Beat Team recognizes the need for families, friends and loved ones as well as the inmates themselves to be informed. The Prison Beat Team believes information is power and anyone interacting with the Canadian Correctional System should have a clear understanding of the do(s) and don’t(s).
The Prison Beat Team is made up of individuals who have first hand knowledge and experience in/with the Correctional Service of Canada. Our Team understands the processes a new inmate and/or someone who is serving time should follow to help them with their sentence. We work closely with "lifer" inmates who have changed in many areas during incarceration and was able to 'cascaded' down from maximum security Institutions. Through those changes, and by creating unquestionable release plans for parole, these inmates are now looking at or have achieved release.
The Prison Beat Team is well resourced and equipped to help with information, insight and knowledge from their experiences.
