Dorchester Penitentiary one of the oldest operating corrections facilities in Canada. Opened in 1880 there have been many changes made to Dorchester Penitentiary in recent years. Dorchester Penitentiary is both a Medium and Minimum security penitentiary. The medium security site can accommodate 397 adult male Federal inmates.

Before you can visit an Incarcerated person, you must be on their visitors list?
Yes, visiting application form must be filled out. If there are children visiting then a child waiver application must be filled out for the child as well.
