Matsqui Institution was originally a drug treatment facility for Federal inmates when it opened in 1966. However, in 1981 the Matsqui Institution transitioned into a Medium security Federal Penitentiary with a capacity to hold 446 Federally sentenced adult male inmates.
Do I need to be on an Incarcerated persons visitors list?
Yes, visiting application form must be filled out. If there are children visiting then a child waiver application must be filled out for the child as well.

How can I schedule a visit?
Visits must be 24hrs in advance. (604)850-8258 Call Mon., Sat., Sun., 8:00-930AM and Tues.-Fri. 1:00-3:00PM
Visitation Information:
Length of visit: 4 hours on week days, 2 hours on weekends
Number of visits per week: 4
Number of visitors per visit: 2 (not including infants)
